April 8, 2020 – The Board of Directors for Monadnock Habitat for Humanity has adopted the recommendation of the Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) organization to put a temporary stop to all building projects under the current COVID-19 safety protocols. Even though New Hampshire has deemed our organization and home building projects to be essential businesses, HFHI has strongly recommended we take this extra precaution at this time.
The Hundley home build in Keene is at a good point to stop without risking loss or damage tothe investment in site improvements and foundation work recently completed. We will be monitoring state, federal and HFHI guidance regularly and plan to resume our project as soon as possible, however it is likely to be after April 30th.
It is imperative that we continue with our outreach for volunteers to serve in a variety of capacities as well as our fundraising efforts so that we can successfully complete this home build when the time comes, and to provide the necessary infrastructure for our forecasted 2021 build. Please take this time to consider whether you can contribute your time or other resources to help us in our mission.
